Airbnb has been around for some time now, but there are still many who aren’t exactly sure what it is or whether they should use it.
In short, Airbnb is a website where people can list their whole home, or just a room or more to rent out on a nightly basis to others. This means the home owner or lease owner can make a few extra dollars, and generally the guest receives accommodation cheaper than a Hotel.
There are over 2.3 million hosts on Airbnb , in all corners of the world, so no matter where you are going you are sure to find something.
Obviously this won’t appeal to everyone. Many like the extra service offered by a Hotel, and some may just not be trustworthy enough to stay in somebody elses home, particularly if sharing with the host, but this can be a great way to meet new people, and many of the hosts are sharing their home for this reason.
Booking a whole house or apartment is perfect for families and larger groups, and there are a huge range available from budget to high end.
Airbnb also has a number of measures in place to ensure you are protected in case the accommodation wasn’t as described. Also, if you are concerned about the accommodation you are booking not being as it should, be sure to read the reviews for the particular host.
So, we think it is a great site for both hosts and guests, and will only get bigger and better.
